March 26, 2020

Dear ATA Members:

As our trucks keep rolling and our industry is moving America, the health and safety of our members is of vital importance to us.  Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation.  The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our businesses, families, communities, and our way of life.

While we are working around the clock to provide you with the latest up to date information, advocate for you, and highlight our industry as heroes, we are also looking forward and reviewing the many ATA events scheduled for the remainder of 2020.

ATA’s Mid-Year Management Session will now be held virtually May 13-15 & 18-19, 2020, instead of hosting the meeting in Tucson, Arizona.  With so much uncertainty in the near future, our ATA Officers and staff made this difficult decision.  ATA Chairman Randy Guillot wanted to share a few thoughts.

While disappointed we won’t have the opportunity to see each and every one of you, we are excited to continue hosting our policy committee meetings, Executive and Board of Directors meetings and general sessions that will provide timely information to help your companies during this difficult time.

In the next few days you will receive additional information regarding how to register, and for those that have already registered, information on refunds and hotel reservations already secured.  Our ATA team will be in touch with our generous sponsors on a new action plan and sponsorship opportunities.  In early April we will post an updated program and schedule, as well as instructions on how to access the many different meetings.

As Chairman Guillot mentions, your support and engagement is vital for the ATA team to continue advocating on your behalf.  The virtual MYMS will allow your voice to continue to be heard and help shape the future of the trucking industry.

We have a number of other important meetings and events scheduled between now and our annual meeting in October.  As we learn more, and are able to make informed decisions, we will certainly let you know the status as soon as a decision is made.

Plans for our annual Management Conference and Exhibition in Denver, Colorado are well under way and we will be opening registration shortly.  We have a robust program, including educational sessions, committee meetings, speakers and entertainment, lined up.  ATA’s MCE has always been a must attend meeting and this one will be even more important.  Please mark your calendars for October 24 – 27, 2020 to join ATA and all of your colleagues for an exciting MCE.

While this is certainly a challenging time for all of us, we are excited to host a great virtual program in May and look forward to seeing everyone in October.

Please let me or Elisabeth Barna, ATA’s EVP of Industry Affairs, know if you have any questions or comments.

Best,

Chris Spear
