Samantha “Sam” Thompson is vice president, customer success and fleet telematics for Penske Transportation Solutions. She leads teams focused on helping customers adopt and integrate transportation technologies, including the Penske digital experience. Since joining Penske in 2012, Thompson has held roles as director of customer success, manager of fleet telematics and customer success, and marketing support specialist. She began her career as a rental clerk and previously worked as a designer, artist and instructor.

After many years in law enforcement as a police detective, Rocco transitioned into finance and in 2015 began working in the transportation industry. Rocco is active in many industry organizations class of 2023 including American Trucking Association (ATA), National Accounting and Finance Council (NAFC), Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), Technology Maintenance Council, ATA LEAB (Law Enforcement Advisory Board), Women in Trucking, Transportation intermediaries Association (TIA), National Tank Truck Association (NTTC) along with numerous State associations.

Justin Copeland is the Vice President of Safety at United Road, where he leads fleet safety, people safety, security, compliance, onboarding, and training initiatives for one of North America’s largest finished vehicle logistics carriers. With more than 20 years in the trucking industry — including 15 years dedicated to safety leadership — Justin has built a reputation for developing practical, data-driven safety strategies that improve driver performance, reduce risk, and strengthen organizational culture.

Christy Choice joined Tenstreet in 2018 and has been a cornerstone of the team ever since. As a trusted Professional Services consultant, Christy combines her technical expertise with an infectious enthusiasm, making the learning experience both impactful and enjoyable. Lee White currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology at the U.S. Department of Transportation. As a senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary, he generates strategic recommendations that help steer and optimize transportation research policies and programs. Lee directs the implementation and day-to-day management of research and technology programs, driving the Department’s innovation agenda while upholding operational excellence. 

Randall (“Randy”) J. Clifford is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ventura Transfer Company, which he has led since 1987. Randy joined the firm full-time following his graduation from college (1980) and spent the next seven years learning the business from the bottom-up, inside and out working with his three brothers as well as his parents.

Brent L. Yeagy is an industrial manufacturing leader with more than 25 years of experience in the automotive and commercial transportation industries. Since June 2018, Mr. Yeagy has been responsible for the strategic direction and operations of Wabash in his role as President and Chief Executive Officer. 

Doug Simon joined the U.S. Department of Transportation as the Director of the Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy Compliance in May of 2025. 

He arrived at DOT after serving four years as the Florida Director of the Office of Drug Control where he was tasked with implementing the Governor’s drug control policies across all Florida agencies.
